Nominal Bond

A nominal bond guarantees the appointee of the estate will pay all court costs and estate debts owed by the decedent of the estate assets.

When a person petitions to be appointed the appointee of an estate the court will determine if a bond is needed and the bond amount required to cover estate assets.

Personal Representative Bond

A Personal Representative Bond ensures that the person appointed to settle an estate will not misappropriate estate funds. When a person petitions to be appointed the Personal Representative of an estate, the court will determine if a bond is needed and the bond amount required to cover estate assets.

• Letter of Representation from Attorney (only required if the bond amount is over $25,000)

Department of Veterans Affairs Bond of Legal Custodian

Department of Veterans Affairs Bond of Legal Custodian guarantee the protection of disabled veterans who are longer able to take care of themselves or their finances.

It is issued when the Department of Veterans Affairs appoints someone to oversee the care and well-being of the incapacitated Veteran.

Guardianship of Adult Bond

Guardian of Conservator bonds protect adults who are no longer able to take care of themselves or their finances. It is issued when the court appoints someone to manage the care and finances of the Adult.

You will need:

• A court order
• A completed application
• Driver's license or ID card
• Letter of representation from an attorney

Guardianship of Minor Bond

Guardianship bonds protect a minor’s financial interest and are required until the minor reaches a specific age or certain terms are met. They are often required when the court appoints a “Guardian Ad Litem” in regards to an estate awarded to a minor.

Special Needs Trust Bond

When a conservator is named, that person is taking on the responsibility of all care requirements. The Special Needs Trust Bond guarantees the conservator acts in that person’s best interests.

A Special Needs Trust Bond is issued when courts appoint a conservator over the well-being of someone, most often a minor or incapacitated adult.

Trustee Bonds

A Trustee Bond guarantees the named executor or fiduciary will properly manage the assets and debts of an estate. A judge will only require this bond if the estate is large, complicated or is in dispute.

Trustee Under Court Order Bond

A Trustee under Court Order Bond guarantees that the attorney responsible for the sale of property in Foreclosure acts in the best interests of the court and sells the home or estate in foreclosure.

A Trustee bond is issued when the court appoints an attorney to sell a home due to foreclosure.

Trustee for Sale of Real Estate

A Trustee for Sale of Real Estate guarantees that unpaid mortgage interest on a property filed with the Land Records Department is paid in full.

A Trustee for Sale of Real Estate is issued to an attorney while the court holds the deed till the mortgage is paid in full by the owner.
